array of int --> j.return (@type generic) = ?

Mathieu CHAMAGNE
hey

is it a bug, or do I misunderstand something here ?

when I send an array of int thru j.return (to j.send) , the array *seems* ok, ... but is not !
(standard Max objects that are supposed to receive this array do not like it ...)

in this example, I try to send midi notes (simple array of 2 ints).
the message arrives, looks correct (I can print it or display it with a message box) , but noteout or kslider are not able to use it.

strange, isn't it ?

the strangest of all : nslider accepts these messages !

so : where is the problem ?  Jamoma ? Max ? me ?

(if you confirm it's a bug, then I'll do a proper report, of course..)

Hi Mathieu,

I’m pretty sure that there’s something about the list messages passed from Jamoma here that is ill-formatted. Some max objects might be more picky about it than others. Please add an issue for this.

Best,
Trond

Re: array of int --> j.return (@type generic) = ?

Mathieu CHAMAGNE
Pascal : in this patch, j.return is @type generic, so it is supposed to support ints

CNMAT printit external doesn't see anything suspicious in the format of the message :
printit: <before_j.return> : received LIST with 2 argument(s):
printit:  LONG   48
printit:  LONG   26
printit: <output_of_j.receive> : received LIST with 2 argument(s):
printit:  LONG   48
printit:  LONG   26

yes, I noticed that after sending my email… so I didn’t send more noise to acknowledge my mistake, but maybe I should have
