Hey !

Apparently, this problem comes from your last commit, Henrique.

Commenting out the unless win? line brings the script back to work

I guess that breaks other things, too…

okie, my bad on the "unless win?", its not very important, as you will notice.

regarding the -K error, i don't know what it is about.

also for building, on the on the workshop we were doing

$build.rb deployment clean

if you look the script: https://github.com/jamoma/Jamoma/blob/master/build.rb#L67-L99 you can see that the parameter "dev" ( used by Renaud ) doesn't change any build configuration.

Another thing worth noticing, and @Tim could clarify, is the term "Deployment" and the term "Development", perhaps we should use just Development / Release and don't have the word "Deployment" on the usage string?

I almost always build with "dev" and "clean".  Please don't change this.  I don't want to type more and I don't want to use the shift key.  Thanks.

Re: [Jamoma] build script failed (#129)

I didn't change anything apart from making it slightly more INsensitive

Also as far as i'm concerned, and perhaps the main build.rb is concerned

the parameter "dev" won't do anything # Am i wrong?

Perhaps it will only use the default use "configuration = "Development".

Only the parameter "deployment" or "release", will change the configuration to  "deployment", as seen here

Also, just noticed, the windows bit still not INsensitive

Anyway, the build script is looking great. just a few more tweaks and it will look like poetry.

Re: [Jamoma] build script failed (#129)

Nils Peters
Hi,

it seems that the deployment release mode is not fully communicated to
the submodules. That's what I have on my console:

        configuration = deployment
        clean         = true
        postLog       = false
        runTests      = true
        sitePush      = false

        !!! WARNING !!!
        THIS BUILD IS COMING FROM A DIRTY REVISION
        THIS BUILD IS FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY
        DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THIS BUILD TO OTHERS

Another build process was found, killing it.
sh: line 0: kill: (33475) - No such process
Building Jamoma Foundation

   configuration: Development
   clean:         true
   version:       0.6.0-a29
   rev:           60262    DIRTY REVISION

BTW, the build script also crashes later with

./build.rb:67: undefined method `downcase' for true:TrueClass
(NoMethodError)
        from ./build.rb:64:in `each'
        from ./build.rb:64

Re: [Jamoma] build script failed (#129)

Hi Nils,

This can probably be addressed by addressing this issue:

https://github.com/jamoma/Jamoma/issues/130

What is the exact command that you do in the terminal (in order to investigate how this fares when passing arguments between the build scripts)?

Are you on the dev branch?

Thanks,
Trond

Re: [Jamoma] build script failed (#129)

Trond Lossius
Administrator
Hi,

The dev/deployment mixup should be fixed now, but I need to get all printouts from Terminal in order to know about where the crash occurs.

Best,
Trond

Re: [Jamoma] build script failed (#129)

Pascal Baltazar-5
In reply to this post by Trond Lossius
Hi !

it works here now when building in deployment.

BTW, apart from the AudioUnit extension (which has been failing from a long time), MathLib also fails…
I guess that’s a know issue, but as I didn’t see it on JamomaDSP’s issues list, I’m noticing it here…

Best,

p

That compiled for me yesterday. Could you please make an issue, mark it high priority and assign to me?

Cheers,
Trond

Sorry for the typing errors, blame my iPhone

Re: [Jamoma] build script failed (#129)

Pascal Baltazar-5
Well, looking into it, the Mathlib folder only contains a Makefile and a build folder

So it looks like gone…
And browsing the repository it actually is...

So, sorry for the noise

BTW, that happens every time something is removed from the repo, I have these remaining and have to remove them by hand.
Any solution to solve this ? (because it can be confusing, as it was here)

Hi Pascal,

Now I remember that MathLib was moved to become part of the DSP Library. Git is tracking files but not folders, so it is not so easy to automate the deletion of folders that are no longer supposed to be there.

Cheers,
Trond

I can confirm that deployment mode works now, but I still get this

./build.rb:67: undefined method `downcase' for true:TrueClass
(NoMethodError)

error.

my main Jamoma folder is on master branch, the Core and Max
Implementation are on the dev branch.
I saw that there is also a dev branch for the main Jamoma repo, are you
guys using this now?

Thanks,

Nils

Hi Nils,

It will be much easier for me to look into this and fix it if you could just run the build script, and past everything that you get, including the command you used for building.

Thanks,
Trond

This is likely the problem, since the build script lives at the top level now. Right?
